Provider: LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES - WILMINGTON HEALTH CENTER
The center provides a variety of general health care services for people of all ages who live in the coastal region. Services include adult state/local health insurance programs through Medi-Cal managed care; Child Health and Disabillity Prevention exams (CHDP), childhood immunizations, contraception, prenatal care, pediatrics and well-baby clinics, and a public clinic. There are no geographic restrictions.
Medi-Cal enrollment and services are restricted to low income people ages 19 to 64, who are L A County Residents, US Citizens, or are legal immigrants and who are not eligible under insurance plans, or other third party coverage. Income must be at or below 133 % of Federal Poverty Level. L A County geographic restrictions apply.
CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.
Contraception and reproductive health services are provided. Low-income individuals may qualify for services under the State Family PACT program. People whose income is less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level are eligible. Services under Family PACT include a complete physical examination, STD testing and treatment, and contraceptive counseling and services. The Family PACT program serves females from 12 to 55 years, and males from 12 to 65 years. Reproductive health services include colposcopy; case specific pregnancy termination; mammography; and pap smears.
The center participates in the Strong Start program (Mama's Neighborhood) for pregnant women who are at high risk for having a preterm birth. Care coordinators help women manage medical appointments and link women with community agencies for additional supportive services.
