Parent Support Groups (Down Syndrome)
Provider: INLAND VALLEY DOWN SYNDROME ASSOCIATION
The association provides services for people with developmental disabilities related to Down Syndrome, and their families and friends, in the Pomona and inland valley area. Services include disease/disability information, disability related parenting programs, health/disability related support groups, parent support groups and special events. There are no geographic restrictions.
First Call is a program for expectant parents or new parents who have recently delivered a baby with Down Syndrome. Volunteers provide information about parenting a child with special needs, and offer guidance and support. Hospital staff may also call or refer patients to the program.
The association holds special events and activities including a kids club for youth, teen dances and activities/workshops geared for youth who have Down Syndrome.
