Provider: VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA - GREATER LOS ANGELES - THE BARRACKS

The agency provides job training programs for veterans, homeless veterans, female veterans, veterans with families, and ex-offender veterans in Los Angeles County. Services include job search/placement and prejob guidance. There are no geographic restrictions.

Ex-offenders may be pre-release, have had contact with law enforcement, or have been released in the past 18 months. Sex offenders are not eligible for services.

The Helping Veterans Receive Paychecks program targets veterans with job search assistance, job referrals, resume preparation and supportive services. Assistance in the form of gas cards, bus passes, clothing, and tools may be provided as well as temporary assistance with maintaining housing stability. Individuals must be a veteran who is homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Service lasts for up to 270 days.

The Helping Veterans Receive Paychecks Female Veterans and Veterans with Families program provides prejob guidance, employment referrals, resume assistance, interview clothing/tools/fees, bus fare and passes; and legal services. Assistance in the form of gas cards, bus passes, clothing, and tools may be provided as well as temporary assistance with maintaining housing stability. Individuals must be homeless or at risk of homelessness. Male veterans with families must have physical custody of dependent minors under the age of 18. Service lasts for up to 270 days.
