Immigrant Visa Application Filing Assistance
Provider: INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF LOS ANGELES - IMMIGRATION AND LEGAL SERVICES
The agency provides immigration services. Services include a comprehensive citizenship application center, immigration assistance, information and referral and resettlement services. There are no geographic restrictions.
Immigration assistance is provided at the agency's citizenship assistance center, which includes help with the INS forms, representation in court before the immigration judge, and preparation for the official INS citizenship exam.
Immigration services include information, advice and guidance for refugees and their families, immigrants, visa seekers and people seeking naturalization, who are inquiring about benefits due them under the law or procedures for obtaining student, visitor or refugee status. Assistance is available for people who are seeking permanent residency or citizenship, adjustment of legal status and legal assistance for problems related to family reunification.
Interpretation/translation and notary services are also provided. Center staff includes professional immigration lawyers.
Applicants for naturalization and other immigrant benefits can only have their fingerprints taken at INS application support centers or at registered law enforcement agencies.
Through the Violence Against Women Act, the agency will work with victims of domestic violence, who are married to or recently divorced from U.S. citizens and legal residents, to leave their abusive relationships and independently petition for their immigration status.
