Caregiver/Care Receiver Support Groups

Provider: LEEZA'S CARE CONNECTION AT PROVIDENCE SAINT JOSEPH MEDICAL CENTER

The agency provides family support to caregivers and family members who are caring for a person with Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia, memory loss and/or chronic illness who lives in Los Angeles County. Services include caregiver/care receiver support groups, caregiver training and mentoring programs for caregivers. There are no geographic restrictions.

Specially trained professionals are available to guide caregivers and their loved ones through the memory disorders process. Online programs are also available.

Support groups are for caregivers and their loved ones suffering from Alzheimer's Disease, Dementia, Parkinson's Disease, Stroke, Multiple Sclerosis and Traumatic Brain Injury, including a focus group for African American female caregivers and the Spanish speaking community.

Caregiver courses are provided with the partnership of community organizations teaching caregivers to take care of themselves and to know the challenges of caring for their loved one with memory loss.
