Adolescent/Youth Counseling (Christian Community)

The center provides counseling for people of all ages who live in the Los Angeles County area. Services include counseling for children, ages 4 through 12; adolescents, ages 13 through 18; and for adults, age 18 and older; psychological testing; and community mental health education. Although the counselors are Christians, there is no religious requirement for clientele. There are no geographic restrictions.
The center provides a broad range of individual, conjoint and group counseling services for adults, adolescents and children. The focus of the counseling sessions may be on life problems, family communication, parent-child conflict, adjustment problems of childhood or adolescence, marital problems, divorce, postpartum depression, substance abuse, premarital issues, anxiety, or depression. Staff can refer clients for other needed services.
The center also provides psychological testing and evaluation services.
The center can provide educational presentations and workshops for community agencies and groups which address a range of mental health-related topics. Depending upon the needs and interests of the group, the focus may be on topics like adolescence, adoption, anger, anxiety, assertiveness, communication, depression, divorce, guilt, marriage, parenting, relationships, sexuality, stress, or other issues.

Application Procedure
Call to arrange an appointment; the agency cannot see people who walk in. People who are interested in a community education presentation may call or email for information.
Fees
The fee for counseling by licensed therapists is $190 per session; counseling with unlicensed masters or doctoral level staff is available on a sliding scale based on income. Psychological assessment consultation is $400. Psychological testing ranges from $1200 to $8000.
