Mental Health Related Support Groups

Provider: NAMI CALIFORNIA - ANTELOPE VALLEY

The agency provides mental health related support groups in Los Angeles County. There are no geographic restrictions.

The NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a free, peer-led support group for adults that have experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. Groups are led by trained facilitators living in recovery with a mental health condition. NAMI’s support groups do not endorse any specific medical therapy or treatment and follow a structured model to ensure everyone has an opportunity to share their experiences. Groups are approximately 90 minutes long and meet weekly, every other week or monthly.

Participants will explore topics including how to manage symptoms, using coping skills, sharing experiences, practicing forgiveness and rejecting guilt, acceptance and confronting trauma.

Groups are also offered in Spanish as NAMI Conexión at select region chapters. Groups for the LGBTQ+ community and for cis & non-binary women of color are also available at select region chapters.
