Wraparound Facilitation/Community Support
Provider: HILLSIDES
The agency provides residential mental health services for youth age 18 and younger in Los Angeles. Services include children's residential treatment facilities for youth who have experienced sexual, physical and/or extreme emotional abuse and are placed through the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services because they need temporary or extended treatment outside of their family environment. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.
The residential programs include a 66 bed residential treatment center on the main campus for children age seven to 13, and two group homes in nearby residential areas for six adolescents age 14 to 18. The agency also operates a special education center on campus for Hillsides residents. Treatment for residents includes individual, family and group therapy; individualized casework planning; and follow up to facilitate adjustment after the child leaves the facility.
The Wraparound program meets the needs of children with complicated, multi-dimensional problems. Children may be referred by the courts or by DCFS. The approach involves the development of a child and family team which creates and implements a wraparound plan that identifies a set of community services and natural supports to promote success, safety, and permanence in home, school and community. The program serves referred children from L A County SPAs 3 and 4.
