Job Search/Placement

The agency provides employment services for Los Angeles County residents age 16 and older. Services include career counseling, job search/placement and vocational assessment. Specific programs are available for refugees, veterans and women. There are geographic restrictions for some programs.

Employment services include career counseling and assessment, seminars in resume preparation, effective job interviewing, job search techniques and job search placement services. Industry specific training programs are provided in the fields of banking, healthcare and apartment management.

WoMentoring is a six month career development program that pairs women up with female mentors who are established in specific careers/industries. The partnership enables mentees to focus on personal and professional growth, increase their networks and receive ongoing encouragement and support.

Veterans First helps veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom transition from military to civilian life through individual coaching and referrals for additional services. Job search/placement helps link veterans with jobs when training is complete. Prejob guidance includes assistance with resumes and interview preparation.

The agency also maintains job listings and assists applicants to locate employment opportunities from entry-level to senior manager and executive positions, including its own website for job-seekers and employers called Parnossahworksla.org.
