Intensive Family Reunification Services
Provider: CRITTENTON SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
The agency provides foster care services for children age birth through 18 and families throughout Southern California. Services include foster parent/family recruitment, foster care for dependent children including those who are pregnant or parenting, foster home placement, intensive family reunification services, supervised living for older youth, and volunteer opportunities. Children must be placed through DCFS. Age restrictions apply; there are no geographic restrictions.
The agency has two campuses that provide residential foster care for dependent children. Staff provide substance abuse treatment, counseling for sexual abuse and domestic violence, independent living preparation, anger management and assertion skills training, and recreational programs. Medical services are provided through the M.A.S.K program; nurses and assistants arrange doctor visits as needed, follow through on medical care plans, and monitor medication. Dental, vision, and other supportive medical services are also arranged through the agency's network of local community agencies.
Emancipation and transitional services including job readiness preparation, career exploration, and housing location assistance is provided as clients graduate from the program. Resident services include life skills training, dependency counseling, medical services, parenting classes, and pregnancy prevention services.
The agency recruits, trains, and certifies foster parents of all ages. Special training is provided for individuals who wish to foster children with special needs.
The agency recruits and trains volunteers for direct and indirect services including picnics and mentoring, special events, and council appointments.
