The facility provides hospital services for people of all ages in Los Angeles County. Services include breastfeeding, general medical care, cardiology services, health education, emergency room services, hospice care, information and referral, obstetric services, mental health services, cancer services, rehabilitation services, and support services. Geographic restrictions apply for some services.
Cardiology services include a cardiodiagnostic department, cardiovascular surgery, a critical care center, a coronary observation unit and a cardiac rehabilitation program.
Obstetric services include Lamaze classes; birth preparation education; private labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum (LDRP) rooms; and a neonatal intensive care unit.
Rehabilitation services include cardiac rehabilitation; and physical and occupational therapy.
Health education includes lectures, classes and health programs in birth preparation, Lamaze, babysitting skills, cardiac education, CPR and infant/toddler resuscitation. A diabetes self-management education series and individual instruction on breast self-examination is also available.
The department also provides a home blood glucose monitoring training program.
Support services include groups for people who have, or have had, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, diabetes, laryngectomy, Down syndrome, breast cancer, fibromyalgia, lupus, lyme disease, multiple sclerosis, scleroderma and stroke. There is also a support group for caregivers as well as a support group for caregivers of people who have Parkinson's.
Through the Robert Charles Behnke Memorial Car Seat Passenger Safety Program, community members may purchase at cost an approved infant car seat, effective until the infant weighs 16-20 pounds (approximately 6 months old).
