Vendor Certification

The department administers, coordinates and funds a variety of human service and economic development programs in the City of Los Angeles. Most services are provided by community-based contract agencies. Three divisions provide coordination of direct services: the Economic Development Division (EDD), the Workforce Development Division (WDD) and the YouthSource and Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). The Administrative Services Division provides intra-department support services.

Administrative services include categorial program/administrative services, community economic development, and planning/coordinating/advisory services. The department administers more than $100 million in state and federal grants. The department works in coordination with the L A City Workforce Development Board, City Council, community-based organizations, citizen's groups, task forces, advisory panels and the business community.

The agency maintains a web site which lists the programs and services of the Department and provides access to specific information about city Business Services, Workforce and Development Centers.
