Animal Exercise Volunteer Opportunities

The agency provides volunteer opportunities for individuals age 16 and older who live in Los Angeles County. Services include animal exercise volunteer opportunities, animal foster care/rescue volunteer opportunities, animal grooming volunteer opportunities, animal shelter attendant volunteer opportunities, animal transportation volunteer opportunities, clerical volunteer opportunities, fundraising volunteer opportunities and veterinary medicine volunteer opportunities. There are no geographic restrictions.
Foster care/rescue volunteers take dogs and cats with recently born litters or special needs into their homes and care for the animals for 8 weeks.
Clerical volunteers provide administrative and office support to the agency. Volunteers act as hosts/greeters to the public.
Fundraising volunteers assist the agency with any fundraising activities.
Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older and provide proof of medical insurance. The agency also requires volunteers to purchase and wear a $11 agency t-shirt. The agency provides 3 hours of orientation followed by care center training. Orientation includes a PowerPoint presentation of Policy, Procedures and safety around animals, application forms and being photographed for a picture ID. Applications and enrollment information is available on the agency's website. Volunteers may be required to complete a criminal background check. The agency requires volunteers to commit to serve a minimum of 8 hours per month for at least 9 months. LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH Volunteers are not required to speak any language other than English.
