Land Use Planning and Regulation Services

This is the government office for the city of Hermosa Beach. Services include animal control, election information, city information lines, business licensing, building and occupancy inspections, illegal dumping reporting, permits, trash/garbage pick up, city maintenance and planning and zoning. Geographic restrictions apply for some services; business-related services are provided only for businesses located in Hermosa Beach.

Animal services include investigation of reports of animal cruelty or neglect, the rescue and sheltering of stray and lost animals, picking up dead animals, reuniting owners and lost pets, making homeless animals available for adoption by the public, the humane euthanasia of animals who are seriously ill or injured or not adopted and providing licenses for dogs and registration for cats.

The city provides building permits, electrical permits, elevator permits, mechanical permits and plumbing permits for any contracted work done within city limits.

City maintenance includes street maintenance, street construction/repair, street lighting maintenance and street cleaning.
