Adolescent Psychiatric Inpatient Units

The hospital provides inpatient mental health services for people of all ages. There are special programs for children, adolescents and adults. The hospital offers specialized treatment for depression, personality and dissociative disorders, sexual abuse, trauma, and for people who are dually-diagnosed. Aftercare and day treatment services are available to all adult patients.

The hospital also houses an inpatient program that deals with several types of psychological issues including eating disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Military Sexual Trauma (MST). Patients must not be using drugs in order to participate in the program. Medical detoxification is available for patients who use drugs and who are willing to enter the program.

Services for children include counseling and crisis intervention for a number of issues including child abuse and emotional or behavioral issues. This service is available for youth ages 6 to 17. The program accepts 72-hour involuntary hold patients under the Lanterman-Petris-Short Act. Services include psychiatric and psycho-social evaluations, group psychotherapy, peer counseling, peer support, and recreational therapy.
