Pregnancy Counseling

The agency provides family life education services primarily for individuals in SPA 5 and SPA 6 of Los Angeles County, which includes Malibu, Santa Monica, Culver City, Beverly Hills, and part of the City of Los Angeles. Services include expectant/new parent assistance, parent counseling, parenting skills development, post-abortion counseling, pregnancy counseling, teen pregnancy prevention and life choices programs. There are no geographic restrictions.

The agency provides educational pregnancy counseling. Counselors explain all alternatives, however, the program does not refer clients to abortion providers. The center provides a teen pregnancy prevention program called "Reality Check", which emphasizes making healthy life choices including decisions about drugs, alcohol, as well as sexual activity.

Support groups are available for adoption, abortion and sexual recovery.

The center's Earn While You Learn program is a parenting, mentoring and support program designed to help improve the education, development, and well-being of families by providing peer-counseling, supplies, and an incentive plan. Every month mothers attend a short counseling session where they, in turn, receive "Mommy Dollars" to be used at Starfish Resale Shop. Starfish is a boutique-style resale shop featuring designer children's, baby and maternity clothes, baby equipment, furniture and toys.

The Parenting Resource Center offers parenting classes, counseling and mentoring to expectant and new parents.
