Sexually Transmitted Disease Screening

The agency provides health services for pregnant women preferably in their first trimester in the West (SPA 5 and SPA 6) area of Los Angeles County. Early pregnancy clinical services include assistance with Medi-Cal application, pregnancy testing, prenatal blood testing, ultrasound scanning, and referrals for ongoing prenatal care. Women may be seen at the clinic until they find an obstetrician for prenatal care. Women in their second and third trimester can be seen if they have not received previous care. There are no geographic restrictions.

The clinic does not provide childbirth/delivery services, but staff can provide doula services, nutrition education, and lactation support. The agency provides pregnancy counseling, explaining all alternatives, however, the program does not refer clients to abortion providers.

The clinic provides pediatric services for newborns and toddlers, 0 to 5 years of age.

The agency assists low-income women to apply for Medi-Cal services using "Presumptive Eligibility" based on the client's income. The client is issued a temporary Medi-Cal card and must make an appointment at the DPSS Medi-Cal office to obtain a permanent card within the next month of her pregnancy.
