Opioid Antidote Distribution Programs
Provider: LA COMMUNITY HEALTH PROJECT SYRINGE SERVICE PROJECT
The agency provides substance use disorder services for people who live in Los Angeles County. Services are targeted but not restricted to youth and homeless intravenous drug users at high risk for HIV, Hepatitis C transmission, and overdose. Services include needle exchange/distribution program services, medical waste disposal targeted exclusively to intravenous drug users, Hepatitis C testing and opioid antidote distribution programs. There are no geographic restrictions, however, mobile unit services are targeted to individuals in the downtown Skid Row, MacArthur Park/Pico Union, South Los Angeles, and Hollywood areas.
Intravenous Drug Users may personally drop off hazardous biological waste such as syringes on Wednesdays only. Medical offices may not use this service.
