Family Counseling
Provider: ALMANSOR CLINICAL SERVICES - COMMERCE
The agency provides mental health services for children and youth ages 2 to 21 and their families who live in SPA 3 and SPA 7 (Greater San Gabriel Valley and Southeast Los Angeles). Services include individual counseling and family counseling. There are geographic restrictions.
Mental health services are for children and youth who have Medi-Cal and there are limited openings for children and youth without health insurance. An assessment and treatment plan are developed with the child and parent. Issues addressed for counseling may include anxiety (worry, fearful), depression (lack of interest, irritability), behavior problems (fighting, not wanting to follow directions, difficulty at home, school or community) and trauma (loss of loved ones and or abuse). Services may also include case management, psychiatric evaluation and medication support if needed. Telepsychiatry is also available. Services can be provided in the home or school.
The agency's clinical service programs include Prevention and Early Intervention Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) Mental Health; Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP); Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT); Seeking Safety; the Children's Full Service Partnership (FSP); Field-Based Mental Health Services; Recovery, Resilience, and Reintegration (RRR) Services; Multidisciplinary Assessment Team (MAT); and Specialized Foster Care (SFC) Mental Health Services.
