Women's Health Centers
Provider: LOS ANGELES COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES - MID-VALLEY COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CENTER
The center provides personal health care services which include adult and pediatric primary care for individuals in Los Angeles County. Services include Child Health Disability Prevention (CHDP) exams, childhood immunizations, contraception, dental care, dermatology, general medical care, HIV testing, ophthalmology, podiatry, cardiology, urology, pediatrics, pregnancy testing, prenatal care, service cost payment assistance for people without health insurance, sexually transmitted disease treatment, teen family planning programs, and women's health centers. Services are targeted to residents of the San Fernando, and Santa Clarita Valleys, and Glendale, however, there are no geographic restrictions.
Dental Services are provided to adults requiring extractions or an assessment for pain; pregnant patients for exam and cleaning; and children age 6 months through 17 years for comprehensive treatment.
CHDP provides regular, preventive health assessments and developmental assessments for children from birth to age 21 who are Medi-Cal eligible and for children from birth through age 18 whose family income is less than 200% of the federal poverty level. The check-ups are offered at set intervals and may include the required Head Start or State Preschool and pre-first grade exams.
Contraception and reproductive health services are provided. Low-income individuals may qualify for services under the State Family PACT program. People whose income is less than 200% of the Federal Poverty Level are eligible. Services under Family PACT include a physical examination, STD testing and treatment, and contraceptive counseling and services. The Family PACT program serves females from 12 to 55 years, and males from 12 to 65 years. Reproductive health services include colposcopy; case specific pregnancy termination; mammography; and pap smears.
