Inmate Correctional Education Records

The agency provides correctional services to people in Los Angeles County and throughout the State of California who are currently incarcerated, nearing parole, or on parole. Services include alternate sentencing/supervision, ex-offender employment programs, inmate correctional education records, inmate pre-release programs, and inmate social service programs. There are no geographic restrictions.

The Office of Program Operations provides in-prison programs for currently incarcerated inmates and community reentry services for post release ex-offenders.

In-prison rehabilitation services vary by facility and may include education, job training, and anger management counseling for inmates.

Community reentry services include pre- and post-release rehabilitative programs such as alternative custody, housing, life skills, education, vocational training, and employment assistance such as the Caltrans Parolee Work Crew Program. Services are offered to eligible inmates and ex-offenders through residential, outpatient, and drop-in centers.

The Male community reentry program is a voluntary program that allows eligible male offenders that have 365 days of their prison sentence left to serve, to serve the end of their sentences in the community, in lieu of confinement in state prison. The program provides linkage to community-based rehabilitative services. All levels of eligible offenders may volunteer for placement in the program and will be reviewed by the Institutional Classification Committee.
