Family Preservation Programs

The agency provides family preservation services for Native American families needing support and those who are involved with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Services include family preservation programs. Services are targeted to the Native American Community; there are no geographic restrictions.

The agency contracts with DCFS to provide Prevention and Aftercare services for families involved with DCFS, as well as those who are self referred. The program provides activities, resources and supports such as family fun nights and parent-child or family-centered activities, parenting education classes, financial literacy instruction and peer support groups. Staff may provide home visits; families may be linked to additional resources including health and mental health care, educational and vocational services and legal services, as needed. Concrete support for basic family needs such as clothing, food, household furnishings, school supplies, utilities, housing assistance, transportation and minor repairs may also be available.
