Relief from Removal/Other Immigration Relief

Provider: COALITION TO ABOLISH SLAVERY AND TRAFFICKING

The agency provides legal services for people who have been trafficked from other countries to the United States for the purpose of forcing them into slavery-like work practices. Services include child custody/visitation assistance, criminal law, immigrant visa application filing assistance, relief from removal/other immigration relief, and temporary restraining orders. There are no geographic restrictions.

The agency works with clients, community based organizations, public interest attorneys and numerous government agencies to ensure survivors of trafficking are provided with legal services that are appropriate for their needs.

Services include representation in removal proceedings; securing release from detention; advocacy to protect rights as victim witnesses; preparation for criminal trial; advocacy to obtain Continued Presence and Certification as a trafficking victim to establish eligibility for refugee benefits; assistance in filing T-Visa, U-Visa, and VAWA applications; and obtaining child custody and crime victim support in obtaining restraining orders.
