Child Custody/Visitation Assistance

The agency provides legal services for low-income people of all ages, including veterans, in Los Angeles County. Services include adoption/legal services, certificates/forms assistance, child custody/visitation assistance, child support assistance, divorce assistance, paternity suits, reverse paternity actions, and temporary restraining orders. There are no geographic restrictions; however, representation may not be available at all court locations.
In most cases people represent themselves (in pro per) before the court, but the center counsels clients in the preparation and filing of court papers. Based on availability, the center offers attorney representation for clients at an additional cost.
Due to the sensitive nature of the information, it is requested that parents do not bring children to the office.

Application Procedure
Walk in to get information and apply for services, call for information or visit the website for information. Intake is on a first come, first served basis and it is recommended that individuals with new cases arrive early.
Fees
The consultation fee is $45; additional fees are charged for extended services. A sliding scale takes into account gross income and the number of children and adults supported by the client. Payments can be made by cash, money orders, debit cards and credit cards only. No personal checks are accepted.

[REVIEW_REQUIRED] Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30am through 12:00pm and 1:00pm through 5:30pm. New client intake hours are Thursday and Friday, starting at 8:15am, on a first come, first served basis. By appointment only evening intake is held on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Call to apply for an evening appointment.
