Mentoring Services Volunteer Opportunities

The organization provides volunteer opportunities for adults in the Antelope Valley area. Services include family services related volunteer opportunities and mentoring volunteer opportunities. Age restrictions apply.

Adults are 21 and older are recruited to provide coaching and monitored visitation to families involved in the Antelope Valley area. Monitors receive 24 hours of training and will meet their designated families in a home setting. Volunteers must commit two to six hours per week for approximately four to six months, depending on each family case. Volunteers must have their own reliable transportation.

Adult mentors are recruited to commit to being a friend to a young person for a period of at least one year. Mentors are trained to spend at least four hours per month with youth. Group mentoring sessions are held once per month and may include guided activities for all to participate in to have fun, practice communication skills, build self-confidence, resolve conflicts and learn basic life skills.
