Mentoring Programs (Former Foster Children)

Provider: SANCTUARY OF HOPE

The agency provides case managment services targeted to young adults, age 18 to 25, who are former foster youth or who are at risk of becoming homeless. Services include life coaching, and mentoring. There are no geographic restrictions.

Life coaching and mentoring services include financial literacy education, communication skills development, nutrition and health information, independent living skills, and workforce development.

Additional services include instruction on how to access mainstream benefits, personal records attainment, and system navigation.

Education services include instruction on how to prepare college applications and personal statements, how to retrieve school records, and tutoring.

Secondary services include emergency transportation, emergency food assistance, and utility bill assistance.

Application Procedure
Call to apply; an appointment is required.

Interested individuals must be willing to participate for up to two years, sign a commitment letter to stay in school, be a former foster youth or be at risk for homelessness, be enrolled in an accredited higher learning institution, have a part-time job, and submit a one page letter requesting support.
Fees
There are no fees for services. Housing and education scholarships may be available.
