Spouse/Intimate Partner Abuse Counseling (Women, South Asian Community)

The program provides domestic violence services for single women and women with children in Los Angeles County. Service includes counseling and a transitional shelter. Length of stay for the Transitional Living Home is decided per clients needs and can be extended up to a maximum of 18 months. The transitional shelter allows boys as long as they are under the age of 9 years. Services are targeted, but not restricted, to the those from South Asia, including but not limited to the countries of Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. There are no geographic restrictions.

The program provides bedding, linen and shower and laundry facilities. Residents are required to obey all house rules which include no drugs, no alcohol or smoking, and a 9:00pm curfew. Supportive services that are offered include case management, children's programs, counseling, job training, legal and medical referrals, life skills training and public benefits advocacy.
