The center provides adult day health care for adults age 18 and older who have developmental disabilities. The service area includes both the East and West San Fernando Valley, Calabasas, Canoga Park, Chatsworth, Encino, Northridge, Reseda, Sepulveda, Sunland, Sylmar, Tarzana and Van Nuys.
To qualify, individuals must have a developmental disability that interferes with daily living but is not serious enough to require 24-hour institutional care, and have a high risk for deterioration and institutionalization without adult day health care. The program provides individualized health and therapeutic services to help participants live as independently as possible.
Services include medical and nursing services; physical, occupational and speech therapy; psychological services; nutritional counseling; lunch and snacks; recreational activities; and transportation.
