The East San Gabriel Valley Mental Health Center provides welfare-to-work support services for mentally/emotionally disturbed persons who receive or are eligible to receive CalWORKs or GROW and live in the San Gabriel Valley area, SPA 3 of Los Angeles County. There are geographic restrictions.
Services may include general counseling services, including individual and group therapy; in-person crisis intervention; medication monitoring; mental health evaluation; and case management. Referrals are made for assessment for medical conditions which may aggravate the mental/emotional condition.
If the child of a CalWORKs recipient has a mental or emotional disorder which constitutes a barrier to the parent's employment or further participation in the CalWORKs program, the CalWORKs4Kids program may provide assessment, child guidance, family counseling and parenting skills development under the same conditions as the recipient.
Transportation assistance, such as bus fare, are provided on a case-by-case basis.
