LOS ANGELES, CA – August 5, 2025 – 211 LA has joined the Los Angeles County Business Federation (BizFed), a broad alliance of more than 240 business organizations representing over 420,000 employers across the region. This comes six months after the devastating wildfires, in which 211 LA’s public-private partnerships with Airbnb,
Hilton and American Express enabled the nonprofit to connect nearly 17,000 impacted households with emergency, short-term housing.
“We believe that we can best support our resilient community during the recovery and rebuilding process by working in partnership with the Los Angeles business community,” said Maribel Marin, Executive Director of 211 LA. “When an organization like ours can effectively collaborate with both the public and private sectors to improve capacity and expand access to resources, it’s the 2-1-1 clients who benefit.”
“We are excited to have 211 LA join BizFed, where it will help us advance our group’s advocacy work across the Los Angeles region,” said BizFed founding CEO Tracy Hernandez. “This information and referral provider has long supported our underserved communities in Los Angeles County and played a critical role during the LA Wildfires as the county’s disaster hotline. Our membership looks forward to collaborating with 211 LA as we all play our part in the long-term recovery efforts for wildfire survivors.”
As a nonprofit, 211 LA brings a mission-driven perspective to BizFed’s influential network, deepening opportunities for cross-sector partnership and collective problem-solving on issues that impact both communities and the economy. Through its membership, 211 LA will share insights on the broader Los Angeles community, learn from regional leaders, and help shape policy solutions that benefit all Angelenos.
