Mental Health Assessment and Treatment (Psychotic Disorders, Youth)

Provider: UCLA CAPPS

The Center for the Assessment and Prevention of Prodromal States (CAPPS) is a clinical research center at the UCLA Semel Institute. The agency provides mental health services to youth ages 12 to 30. Services include mental health evaluation and treatment. There are no geographic restrictions.

CAPPS specializes in identifying and treating youth, between the ages of 12 and 30, who are at high risk for developing psychotic disorders in the prodromal phase of schizophrenia. Youth are initially evaluated and if considered at risk for psychosis (schizophrenia) they are invited back to participate in a two year long assessment and treatment program.

Participants receive pre-screening assessments, early intervention, comprehensive mental health support, family and caregiver support and collaborative care. Interested individuals can access the symptom screener online at https://capps.semel.ucla.edu/screener/.
