The program provides emergency food and personal services primarily for people who live in East Los Angeles zip code 90022 and a food program for people living in East Los Angeles, Commerce and Montebello including people who are homeless or undocumented. Services are targeted, but not restricted, to the low-income Spanish-speaking community. Services include formula/baby food and ongoing emergency food assistance for people in zip code 90022 and a food line for people in East Los Angeles, Commerce and Montebello. Geographic restrictions apply for some services.
Emergency food consists of a two-day supply of canned goods, beans, rice, cheese and butter; the amount of food varies according to family size. Baby food is sometimes available depending on donations. People who are enrolled in the ongoing emergency food program are assisted one time per month.
The food line is open to the public and is a weekly Parking Lot Food Distribution program that distributes food on Friday. People are given numbers and line up when food is available.
