The district provides comprehensive K-12 education for children who live in Paramount, South Gate, and surrounding parts of Long Beach. Services include school based teen parent/pregnant teen programs, and unified school district services. There are geographic restrictions.
The district has 16 kindergarten through eighth grade schools, one ninth grade school site, one tenth to twelfth grade site, one comprehensive high school, one continuation school, and one adult school. The district offers special instruction for learning disabled youth, severely and multiply handicapped students and for children who have problems.
The district also provides a program for gifted minors, a program for pregnant minors which enables them to finish high school and to learn parenting skills, and an adult education program and a school readiness program.
