Youth Shelters
Provider: OPERATION SAFE HOUSE
The program provides a runaway shelter for youth 11 to 17 years who are runaways or are at risk of becoming runaways, and a transitional living program for youth 18 to 24 and/or homeless in Riverside County. Those who wish to participate in the transitional living program who are 18 or under must be legally emancipated. The maximum length of stay is up to 21 days in the runaway shelter and 18 months in the transitional living program. There are no geographic restrictions; however, parents of youth who live outside of Riverside County must agree to participate in family-oriented programs.
The runaway shelter accommodates 17 adolescents, while the transitional living program is able to house up to 20 homeless youth in shared apartment style living; bedding, linen and three meals per day are provided.
