Human Rights Groups (Inmates, Women)

The organization is a community action group that advocates for women and transgender inmates of California prisons. Services include correctional system reform groups, human rights groups for transgender and women prisoners of color, inmate visitation programs and family support. There are no geographic restrictions.
The group provides leadership development for inmates and ex-offenders, educates the larger community about correctional system injustices and offenses, and advocates for prison system change. It produces a newsletter, The Fire Inside. The organization is also involved with other groups to provide support for former prisoners.

There are no fees. A donation is requested for the newsletter; donors may also send $25 to have the newsletter sent to a woman in prison.
