Specialized Information and Referral (Undocumented Workers)

The agency provides immigration services through the Office of Immigrant Affairs. Services include immigration services complaints, public awareness/education of immigration issues, rights counseling for undocumented immigrants, and specialized information and referral for immigration resources. There are no geographic restrictions.

The office's Know Your Rights website provides information to help immigrant communities and service providers understand their rights and find local resources, including:

• Rapid Response Networks to report and request support for ICE activity
• TheNavigating Immigration Resources in LA County toolkit to view or print
• Red Cards with quick information about how people can exercise their rights and protections under the US Constitution to order or print in 56 languages
• Family preparedness training
• Detention support
• Low-cost legal resources for workplace, education or tenant issues related to immigration status
• Free virtual, in-person or hybrid workshops for immigrant communities and service providers

The office also provides information about consumer protection issues such as how to identify, prevent, and resolve instances of immigration fraud. The agency takes reports of immigration service complaints such as dishonest immigration consultants and offers tips on how to search for a reputable immigration consultant.
