Family Preservation Programs

The family preservation program is available to families who are referred by the Department of Children's Services only. Services include family preservation programs. It includes a variety of family support services including counseling, in-home counseling and education, advocacy and assistance. The geographic service area is Metro area SPA 4.

The family preservation program combines individual, group, and family counseling to families with youth, ages 10 through 14, who are under the supervision of the L A County DCFS. Other services may include parenting classes /instruction, in-home demonstrative services, counseling, auxiliary funds, and any services geared toward maintaining child(ren) in their own homes or in assisting the family toward a safe reunification. Services may be provided on-site or in the youth's home.
