Teen Expectant/New Parent Assistance (TANF Recipients)

Provider: CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL LOS ANGELES - PROJECT NATEEN

The hospital provides family support services for pregnant and parenting teens in the Los Angeles area. Services include teen expectant/new parent assistance for young women and men. Services are restricted to teens who are in CalWORKs and live in the area bounded by Alameda on the east, the Hollywood Hills on the north, La Cienega Blvd. on the west, and Jefferson Blvd. on the south.

Project NATEEN provides case management services and a weekly educational and supportive drop-in group for pregnant and parenting teens who are in Teen parents may enter the program up to age 19. Program staff work with community partners to link youth with services including prenatal care, children's health care, housing assistance, public benefits, parenting support groups, education and vocational training. An onsite independent study program supported by the Los Angeles County Office of Education is also available. Clients may receive ongoing case management services through age 20.
