Printed Materials (LGBTQ2+ Issues)

Provider: PARENTS, FAMILIES AND FRIENDS OF LESBIANS AND GAYS - LOS ANGELES

The organization provides counseling for people who are in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning (LGBTQ) community as well as their parents, family and friends through printed information, monthly rap groups, parent peer counseling, speakers and small group discussions. There are no geographic restrictions.

The organization's goal is to educate and support the relatives and friends of lesbians and gays so that their relationship with them is not affected by misinformation and homophobia and so that they do not feel responsible, guilty or ashamed because of the person's homosexuality. In addition, the group provides a speakers bureau which is available, on request, to speak to community groups about the organization and the issues parents of lesbians and gay men must deal with; printed materials are also offered.
