Congregate Meals/Nutrition Sites
Provider: CITY OF REDONDO BEACH - VETERAN'S PARK SENIOR CENTER
The program provides services for older adults, age 60 and over, in Redondo Beach. Services include adult day care center services at one location, congregate meals at 2 locations, and senior centers at 3 locations in the city. Services are intended for residents of Redondo Beach and surrounding communities.
The Adult Day Care Center program at Anderson Park Senior Center offers respite care for family caregivers. The program provides arts and crafts, exercising, games and singing. The program can accommodate person's with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, stroke and the frail elderly who need socialization.
The senior centers provide clubs and classes, an annual health fair, special needs programs for adults, special events and volunteer opportunities. A congregate meal is provided 5 days per week.
A congregate meal is served at lunch time at two of the centers. Lunch is served at Veterans Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at Perry Park on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Reservations are required 24 hours in advance by calling the Office of Senior and Family services.
