The department provides domestic violence services for the City of Santa Monica. Services include emergency protective orders, spousal abuse prevention, temporary restraining orders, and technical assistance for professionals. Services are restriced to the city of Santa Monica.
The department issues emergency TRO's when the courts are not open to do so. Spousal abuse prevention is provided through technical assistance presentations to professional groups such as physicians and mental health professionals, and through community awareness programs for the general public and educational institutions.
