Provider: CITY OF LOS ANGELES DEPARTMENT OF WATER AND POWER
The program provides disaster services for people of all ages who live in the city of Los Angeles. Services include drinking water, earthquake safety, public restrooms and water purification bulletins.
The department provides drinking water to areas whose water service is interrupted due to a disaster through mobile units that distribute water daily. It also provides portable toilets to neighborhoods that are without water service.
The department issues water purification bulletins to the public media. Bulletins identify geographic areas where drinking water is unsafe. They also provide instructions in how to purify water to make it safe for drinking.
The department also provides brochures about earthquake preparedness.
