Gas Service Payment Assistance
Provider: SALVATION ARMY SOUTHEAST COMMUNITIES CORP - HUNTINGTON PARK
The program provides financial assistance for people who live in Huntington Park and the surrounding areas. Service includes utility bill assistance. The program provides year-round utility bill assistance for residents of Huntington Park, Downey and Maywood. A final call bill or cut off notice is required; the program will not pay reconnection or deposit fees. This service is restricted to Huntington Park, Downey and Maywood.
A separate program provides utility bill assistance for residential customers of Southern California Gas Company and Southern California Edison through the Gas Assistance Fund (GAF) and Energy Assistance Fund (EAF) program. The GAF/EAF programs will pay up to $100 per household ($200 for all electric households); assistance is available once every 12 months. Household income earnings cannot exceed the Federal Poverty Guidelines. There are no geographic restrictions.
The agency also receives private funding for gas bill assistance for residents of Downey and Huntington Park. ,

Application Procedure
Call to apply; an appointment is required for year-round utility bill assistance. ID, proof of income and a delinquent bill are required.
Call to apply for GAF/EAF utility bill assistance programs; an appointment is required. Eligible applicants receive an appointment is required. ID, proof of income and a current or delinquent bill are required. Examples of delinquent bills are discontinuance of service notice, urgent notice, extension notice, final call notice, 48-hour notice, overdue payment notice, shut-off notice, disconnect notice and closing bill. Bills cannot be older than two months old.
Call to apply for the SHARE program. Applicant must have a disconnection notice or already had services disconnected.
