Brown Bag Food Programs
Provider: SALVATION ARMY SOUTHEAST COMMUNITIES CORP - HUNTINGTON PARK
The program provides emergency food for families, couples and individuals who live in Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Downey, Huntington Park, Maywood and South Gate. Services include emergency food assistance and a brown bag program for seniors. Services are restricted to Bell, Bell Gardens, Cudahy, Downey, Huntington Park, Maywood, South Gate, Vernon and Walnut Park residents.
A four-day supply of groceries is provided for families with children, single women, people who are disabled, and people who are age 55 or older. The amount of food provided varies according to family size. A typical bag of food may include USDA food products and canned goods. Assistance with groceries is available once per month.
The brown bag program provides groceries for seniors 62 years and older on a monthly basis. Seniors should call each month to verify availability of food.
