Legislative Advocacy (Health Issues)

The agency provides legislative advocacy for Los Angeles County. There are no geographic restrictions.
Advocacy committees work to advance public policies involving decriminalizing mental illness, jail diversion, supportive housing, reentry support, expanding the mental health work force, conservatorship, crisis intervention training for law enforcement, improving circumstances between homelessness and mental health, and increasing public funding and private insurance coverage of mental health services. The organization encourages members of the public interested in mental health advocacy to join monthly Advocacy Committee Meetings.

Call or write the administrative office for information, literature, or for a list of support groups and chapters in Los Angeles county. Call affiliates for support group and local chapter information.

There are no fees for services; donations are requested, but not required, at support groups.
