Transitional Housing/Shelter
Provider: LOS ANGELES LGBT CENTER - YOUTH SERVICES
The program provides transitional shelter for LGBTQ2 young adults, age 18 to 24 who are homeless or in unsafe living conditions. Couples may participate in the program if both individuals are able to comply with the program. The shelter cannot serve pregnant women, people who have substance use disorder, or people who are violent. There are no geographic restrictions.
The agency provides transitional shelter through a structured independent living program in a 25-bed dormitory setting. The program includes three meals per day and support services to assist residents to become self-sufficient. Residents must be employed or actively seeking employment, or attending school, and abide by house rules such as the prohibition of alcohol and drug use.
Secondary services include case management; employment and educational opportunities; counseling; and independent living skills.
