Adult Psychiatric Inpatient Units

The medical center provides inpatient mental health services for adults age 18 and older who have psychological problems which require inpatient care and live in the East San Gabriel Valley. Treatment is individualized and may include individual and group therapy; relaxation, exercise, movement, assertion, occupational therapy; and medication. Self-help groups are also offered. The goal is to stabilize and return the client to the community as soon as possible. There are no geographic restrictions.

To be eligible for services people must be ambulatory and able to provide self-care; the unit is unable to accept people who are involved with alcohol or drugs, people who have developmental disabilities or people who are violent. The unit, called Parkside West, can accommodate 30 adults.
