Advocacy/Ombudsman Volunteer Opportunities (African American Community, Women)

The agency provides volunteer opportunities for women 18 years and older in Los Angeles County. Service includes individual/group advocacy volunteer opportunities. This service is targeted, but not restricted, to African American women. There are no geographic restrictions.
The Advocate Training Program (ATP) is a 9 month certification program designed to train women to become effective health policy activists and advocates. Participants learn community organizing and advocacy skills; initiating and sustaining letter writing campaigns and writing press releases. No policy experience is required to apply for the program.
