Managed Health Care Information

The department provides consumer assistance to the general public related to health maintenance organizations (HMO's). Services include health maintenance organization complaints, and managed health care information. There are no income or geographic restrictions.
The department protects consumers' health care rights and ensures a stable health care delivery system in California.
The Help Center helps Californians resolve complaints and issues with their health plans such as coverage disputes, access to providers and billing issues.
Complaints may be made online, in writing, or by calling the Help Center. To make a complaint, the person must have their case reviewed by their health plan first, or have had the case in review for over 30 days.
