Homelessness Prevention Programs

The agency provides housing services to help families who are experiencing financial hardship due to being behind on their rent and are at risk for eviction and/or being homeless. Services are restricted to San Gabriel Valley residents.

Services include homeless prevention assistance program:

  -A one-time prevention assistance of up to $2,000 to families that are behind on their rent and at risk for eviction and subsequent homelessness.

   -Move-in assistance for u to $2,000 first month's rent and/or security deposit, for eligible homeless families that have identified an eligible unit.

The program will provide services until funds are exhausted.

Eligibility and Requirements:

  -There must be at least one minor child (under the age of 18) living in the household requesting assistance.

  Additionally, families may be eligible for prevention if:

  *There is a dependent son or daughter older than 18 with a disability that requires them to remain in the care of the parent and/or guardian requesting assistance.

   *A female in the household is pregnant and there are no other minor children.

  *Family must have a lease in their name (shared housing/room is allowable).

  *Landlord must be willing to accept a 3rd party check (and complete a W9).

  *Family must be able to sustain rent after one-time assistance.

  *Agree to participate in at least 6 months of case management working towards family-identified goals.

  *Units must fit within LA County Fair Market Rates.

  *Preference is given to families whose household income falls under the HUD low-income threshold.
